UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN ISCC Public Interface Team (PIT)

Team Charge:

1. using CIO Office guidelines as they become available, coordinates the customization of the UIUC Voyager public interface(s), including the overall look and feel of the interface(s), the content of record display, help and information screens, and ADA-compliant features;

2. develops, tests, and evaluates prototypes for UIUC's Voyager public interface(s), in conjunction with the Systems Office and the ILCSO Offices, focusing on ease of use and maximum public access to information resources;

3. coordinates, in conjunction with the Library Systems Office, the integration of access to locally developed UIUC public databases (e.g., XML, Access, SQL) and licensed commercial electronic databases into the public interface(s);

4. assists the ISCC Training Team in developing public interface(s) training sessions for Library Faculty/Staff.

5. provides regular updates to Library Faculty/Staff and Library Administration on the Voyager public interface(s);

6. develops and maintains a Voyager training manual covering the UIUC public interface(s);

7. evaluates Voyager's standard public interface reports and recommends reports to be implemented at UIUC, recommends customized public interface reports needed by UIUC;

8. serves, on an ongoing basis, as the primary resource team for Library Faculty/Staff on problem solving and troubleshooting the UIUC Voyager public interface(s).
