Media Circulation Policies
The information on this page concerns videorecordings (DVD, etc.) and videogames held in the Undergraduate Media Collection. Audiobooks and computer files (CD-Roms, etc.) circulate as if they were books.
Items in the Undergraduate Media Collection circulate to all patron types for a One Week loan. Faculty/instructors may make advance reservations for titles in the collection, and are not limited in number of items they can check out. Undergraduate students can check out up to 5 items at a time. Other patron groups may use the collection as available, and are limited in number of items checked out at any given time based on their particular patron type. Late fees of $1 per day / per item are assessed. Media materials must be picked up and returned in person at the Undergraduate Library Information Services desk.
In order to renew Media materials, patron MUST call or come by the Undergraduate Library (217-333-3477) before the materials are due. Media materials may be renewed up to three times, but only if there are no conflicting reservations. Please do not assume that you will be able to renew media materials.
Media materials on reserve circulate to students and most other patron groups for building-use only. Faculty/instructors may check out media materials on reserve for up to four days, with no renewals. (Personal copies on reserve may not be checked out by other faculty/instructors.) Media items do NOT appear in a patron's My Account page. If you need to know what media materials are currently charged to you and when they are due, or what media reservations you have coming up, please contact the Undergraduate Library (217-333-3477).
