UGL Text Alerts: How Does This Work?
How many text messages will I receive?
If you sign on to this service you will receive 2 messages a week while Office Hours are in session; 1 text message reminder on Monday (office hours are 3-5) and 1 text message on Tuesday (office hours are 6-8). The messages will be sent out the morning of office hours and include information on when and where the office hours are being held.
How much does this cost?
You will not be charged anything by the University Library. Whatever charges you normally incur for receiving text messages on your phone will be the only cost to you. We are not in your subscriber network as the service is sending an email to your phone in the form of a text message.
What if I want to stop receiving text messages?
You can choose to stop receiving messages at any time. This is the unsubscribe link. You can sign up for the service, receive one reminder and then unsubscribe. If you decide you want to get a reminder after unsubscribing you are welcome to subscribe again.
Is my cell phone data protected?
Your personal information will be protected in line with FERPA guidelines. The system architecture has a built in safeguard to ensure that only the individual user of the cell phone can subscribe to this service.
