UIUC Library Staff Development and Training

I'm pleased to tell you that the Provost has established a $50,000 fund to
assist academic professionals' development.  The funds are available to
permanent academic professional staff with appointments of 50% or more;
individual awards will not exceed $1000.  Each academic staff member will
receive no more than one award a year from this fund.

The Provost expects units to match the amount requested.  In general, I
expect that we will use the funds already allocated to you for travel for
the required match.  Please see me in specific instances where this is
insufficient.
 

Applications will be accepted beginning July 1, 2004.  Details about the
