Oracle Calendar Documentation

CITES maintains a full set of OC documentation at

http://calendar.uiuc.edu

Requesting your Oracle Calendar account.

Send e-mail to Library Systems Office to request an Oracle Calendar account.

Setting your Oracle Calendar password.

Your OC account has the same name as your netid. Once you have received confirmation your calendar has been setup, go to the CITES Password Home Page to set the OC password:

http://www-apps.cites.uiuc.edu/password/passwd-ct.cgi

You will need your netid and its password to get in.

Check the box for Oracle Calendar, type in your new CT password and verify it, click Set Passwords, and then click Quit & Logout.

Accessing Oracle Calendar

Once you have a OC password you may access OC immediately via the web interface at http://calendar.uiuc.edu. You may also download and install a somewhat nicer client that handles the OC management on your computer. This is found at http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/calendar/oracle/#products. You may also log a work request for the Library Systems Office to install the client for you.

Configuring the Oracle Calendar client

The downloaded OC client needs to know where the CITES calendar server is and what your account name is, so it needs a one-time setup. This is a simple process that is documented in the OC Quick Tour guide:

http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/calendar/oracle/guides/clients/tour.html#signing

Using the Oracle Calendar client

The rest of the Quick Tour shows how to use OC and it will take only a few minutes to learn the basics. The index to the Quick Tour guide is at

http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/calendar/oracle/guides/clients/tour.html

Synching Oracle Calendar with your PDA

Windows CE and Palm OS devices can be synchronized with the Oracle Calendar Client by using a utility that must be licensed per user. Systems Office will handle purchasing and installation of the utility.
