The
Ukrainians have produced a number of biographical dictionaries for professors
and scholars from various institutions or disciplines. Only some of them have
been annotated below. This page is under construction, January 2003.
N.B. This section includes mostly biographical dictionaries or sets that are
not covered in the Russian biographical archive,
which may be helpful for locating biographical data on Ukrainians and Belorussians
in addition to Russians. Those few that are both in the RBA
and included here are of particular signifance and are noted as such.

Although the text of this source is in Russian,
some of the rectors of Kharkov State University
were Ukrainian. Biographies of the rectors are about a page in length followed
by several pages of bibliographical references to works by and about the figures.
Each biography is accompanied by a portrait. The entries provide dates of life
and dates of association with the University as well as educational and career
information.

Issued in conjunction with the centennial of the National
Technical University in Kiev, this biographical dictionary presents entries
and portraits of current and former members of its faculty.
Entries provide basic biographical data including career highlights and areas
of research interest. Mention is given to special awards that the faculty member
may have won. Unfortunately, there are no bibliographical references, but the
entries do give a sum total of published works for each person. See the rather
brief entry on the left for Valentin Stepanovich Kocho. Most entries are about
three times this long.

Covering economics,
political science, sociology and law, this biographical dictionary presents
a total of 600 Ukrainian scholars working in each
of these fields. Entries include current position held, education, date and place
of birth, research interests and contact information, among other things. The
second half of the book presents Ukrainian institutions
in the four disciplines mentioned above. The institution entries provide
contact information, details on the organization and member faculties or institutes,
as well as listings of special projects. See the entry below for Georgii L'vovych
Znamens'kyi.
