Document Delivery

Note: The information on this page is intended for UIUC affliliates who are not enrolled in, or teaching, courses offered through the Division of Academic Outreach. Academic Outreach patrons have a special set of delivery services beyond the normal ones outlined below. More information.

ARTICLE AND CHAPTER DELIVERY FROM UIUC'S COLLECTION

For UIUC users, the fee-based DocExpress service provides desktop delivery of articles and chapters from journals and books held in UIUC's collection. Faculty and staff pay $3 per citation; students, $5. Tables of content may be requested to help researchers select articles or chapters. Documents are made available on the web in PDF format.

Placing a DocExpress request

Note: Before using DocExpress for the first time, you need to set up an account for payment. This can be done on the main DocExpress page, and you can use Visa, MasterCard, or a departmental or grant account.

  1. Go to the Interlibrary Loan homepage and click UIUC DocExpress. The Interlibrary Loan homepage
  2. Enter your NetID and password when prompted.
  3. Click the DocExpress Request button. The DocExpress menu

DELIVERY FROM NON-UIUC COLLECTIONS

UIUC users can request articles and chapters from journals or books not held at UIUC by ordering them through the Interlibrary Loan Borrowing Office. Documents are made available on the web in PDF format. This service is free for UIUC affiliates, and requests are normally filled in 7-10 days. E-RESERVES

E-Reserves for courses taught through UIUC can be found by searching the Course Reserves (in the Online Library Catalog) either by instructor or course number. Items available online will have links to full text PDFs. Instructions on finding reserves.
