Overview
The History, Philosophy, and Newspaper Library contains the largest academic newspaper collection in the United States. The collection is located in Room 246 of the Main Library. Together, bound volumes and microforms provide access to back issues of nearly 3,000 newspaper titles. The library also has current subscriptions to more than 400 foreign and domestic newspapers. You can search for particular newspapers in the newspaper database.
The History, Philosophy, and Newspaper Library supports the entire university community as well as the general public. Research support and assistance are provided across a number of academic disciplines with particular strengths in the social sciences and the humanities. The History, Philosophy, and Newspaper Library is full of material that touches on the University of Illinois.
