• Agricola
  The National Agricultural Library, as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, produces the AGRICultural OnLine Access database. This database contains records for books and articles on agriculture and its allied disciplines. This quick search guide describes how to search this collection.
• ERIC
  Maintained by the U.S. Department of Education, the Educational Resources Information Center provides free access to more than 1.2 million citations of journal articles and other education-related materials. When available, links to full text are included. For more information, see this overview of ERIC.
• LISTA
  The Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts database indexes more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management, and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.
• MedlinePlus
  Produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, MedlinePlus includes 730 over health topics pages, information from over 1,350 organizations, and over 18,000 links to authoritative health information. • PubMed
  Also produced by NLM and NIH, PubMed contains over 14 million citations dating back to the mid-1960s in the the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. Please see PubMed Help for an overview of how to search this database.
• WorldCat
  The Online Computer Library Center supports WorldCat, a catalog 69 million bibliographic records and 1 billion individual holdings. Use WorldCat to determine citations for books, journals, videos, and music and to locate a copy near you. See the features guide for help interpretting the records.

FULL-TEXT ACCESS TO REFEREED JOURNALS FOR ALL ALUMNI

• Directory of Open Access Journals
  The DOAJ provides access to over 2,500 scientific and scholarly journals. The DOAJ covers free, full-text, peer-reviewed journals from many disciplines and in many different languages. In addition to browsing by journal title, this database also features an article-level search option for nearly 750 journals within the collection.
• International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications
  The INASP provides a directory of free and open access online resources. Coverage includes the following disciplines: agriculture, biology & life science, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering & technology, evironment, humanities, information & communication technologies, mathematics & statistics, medicine & health sciences, physics, and social sciences.
• Online Research Resources
  Search our ORR collection for indexes, journals, newspapers, or reference tools. Titles marked by a globeare available to anyone, but titles marked with the UIUC symbol are restricted by our licensing agreements to current students, faculty, and staff and on-campus users. If you don't have a resource in mind, you can browse our collection by subject or view this alphabetical list of free titles for thousands of resources available to you. • AnyWho Online Directory (AT&T)
  Locate telephone numbers and addresses for both businesses and people. Other notable features include maps, reverse lookups (enter the phone number and it will return the owner's name and address), a toll-free directory, and links to international directories.
• Bartlett's Familiar Quotations
  Search the 1919 edition for passages, phrases, and proverbs traced to their sources in ancient and modern literature.
• Calculators & Converters
  Calculate the distance between two cities, perform metric conversions, calculate inflation, and more.
• CIA World Factbook
  Unclassified since 1971, the Central Intelligence Agency's annual World Factbook provides a reliable resource for information on independent states, dependencies, areas of special sovereignty, uninhabitable regions, and oceans.
• Information Please Almanac
  The online version contains all of the facts from the printed almanac, plus a dictionary and encyclopedia.
• Merriam-Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus
  See Merriam-Webster Online for a good quick reference site from an authority in dictionary publishing.
