The INHS Library’s collection is included in UIUC’s University Library online catalog. The catalog is accessible through the INHS Library homepage as well as the UIUC Library Gateway. Collections of materials in the catalog include books, journals, magazines, newspapers, video recordings, maps, government documents, CD’s, and DVD’s.
If an item is not available at the UIUC Library, the item may be requested through the ILLINET Online Library Catalog which includes collection information from 65 academic and research libraries in Illinois.
If the item you are requesting is not available through the UIUC or ILCSO libraries online catalogs, the Information Resource Retrieval Center (IRRC) can assist you in retrieving the item.
The IRRC is the interlibrary loan department for the University Library. Requests for research materials can be placed online through the IRRC. Use this service to request books, dissertations/theses, conference proceedings, articles, and other items that are not available through the UIUC or ILCSO libraries.
For UIUC and ILCSO materials, faculty, staff, and graduate students can either designate a library pick-up location or can request delivery through campus mail to their campus address. Undergraduate students must designate a library pick-up location.
You will receive a notification via e-mail when the item is available for pick-up. If you select UIUC Campus Mail delivery, you will receive the item in your campus mailbox. If your request cannot be filled, you will be notified via email.
For requests placed through IRRC, faculty, staff, and students will receive an email notification to pick up the item or instructions for electronic retrieval.
If you have questions, please contact INHS Library staff at (217) 333-6892 or email the librarian.
