Visiting the Library
Although not marked on the campus parking map, the parking lot to the west of the Main Library Building is a metered parking lot which does not require a parking permit. Meters are not enforced in this parking lot after 6 p.m. and on weekends. Please read the parking meter in other locations for enforcement policies. This parking lot also has five designated accessible parking spaces. Meters are 75 cents an hour in 20 minute increments.

Circulation Policies
- Your i-card serves as your library card.
- Summary of borrowing privileges for OLLI members
- Check-out: Books from all libraries check out for 16 weeks.
Periodicals from the Main stacks check out for two weeks. For more information, please see the departmental libraries policies. - Renewals: Most serials can be renewed for up to 1 year; most monographs for up to 3 years, unless needed by another user.
- Can't find the book you are looking for in the catalog? If an item is currently unavailable at UIUC, please follow these instructions to search I-Share. If you have any questions, please contact Central Reference for assistance.
- Are you interested in checking out materials from the Undergraduate Library's media collection?
- Fines: Not fined at UIUC except for overdue recalls ($5.00/day, maximum $25.00/item) and overdue reserves ($2.00/hour)
- Lost items fines: $125/per item and Assumed lost billing $300 per bound periodical
- Bookstack access: OLLI members have access to the Main Stacks on the second floor of the Main Library. Please request a map at the entrance.
- Returns: Borrowers may return UIUC and I-Share library materials to any public service point in the library regardless of where the item was originally charged out. Library materials can also be returned to the bookdrop on the southwest corner of the Main Library.
- Check-out: Books from all libraries check out for 16 weeks.

Do you need help finding materials in the library?
Electronic Resources
- OLLI members have access to electronic resources through the Online Research Resources page.
- To access these resources from a home computer, you will need to login through the proxy server. For more information about using library resources off campus, please visit Getting Connected.
- The Reference Library has created many tutorials to help you find online articles. You may also be interested in the Undergraduate Library's How Do I...? tutorials.

Tours
The University of Illinois Library welcomes you on a tour of the Main Library building. The tour will stop at several libraries including the Education and Social Science Library, Applied Health Sciences, Central Reference Services and the Reference Library, Government Documents, the History, Philosophy and Newspaper Library, the Rare Book and Manuscript Library, and the Classics Library. Along the way we will talk about the history of the building, art in the library and take a peek behind-the-scenes in the Cataloging Department.

Classes and Workshops
OLLI LIBRARY BASICS
As a new OLLI member, you have access to one of the greatest libraries in the country. With more than 10 million volumes and still growing, the library is a premier research institution. This hands-on workshop will provide instruction on how to locate and access books, videos, and audio books, as well as online resources, including popular newspapers and magazines. We will also talk about circulation policies and lending periods, how to renew a book, photocopying and how to print from a library computer, and when and how to request items from I-Share or Interlibrary Loan. Be prepared to ask questions about the library, we'll have the answers!

Lunch Bytes
A drop-in technology session just for OLLI members! Bring your questions about how to use the library, find books, request items as well as ask basic questions about how to use email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
