COLLECTION: Thomas A. Radcliffe American sheet music

PROVENANCE: Purchase from Radcliffe, a private collector

WHEN ACQUIRED: 1967-1968

DESCRIPTION: Total of 5,861 American sheet music editions received, mainly from the era 1890-1920. Categories included "mother" songs, telephone, railroad, movie stars, rags, stage and film songs, "coon" songs, Irish, World War I, etc. Some duplicate items were not added to sheet music holdings. A copy of the "Illinois Loyalty Song" was donated by Radcliffe to the Music Library in 1973.

ARRANGEMENT: Interfiled within general American sheet music holdings, arranged by medium of performance/date/accession number.

ACCESS/FINDING AIDS/BIBLIOGRAPHY: No lists exist of individual titles.
