COLLECTION: Arthur Farwell music on microfilm

PROVENANCE: Edited and filmed by Brice Farwell, with other Farwell family
members

DESCRIPTION: Thirteen reels of 35mm microfilm include over 11,000 pages of music
and 3,000 pages of writings: "...composer's lifework in 35mm facsimile of all
available drafts, finished mss., and published forms, with references and
writings by and about the composer ...Index to the collection, on each reel, is
updated from A Guide..."; (B. Farwell memo. Collections File)
A Guide to the music of Arthur Farwell and to the microfilm collection of his
work (Briarcliff Manor, NY: issued by B. Farwell ... 1972).

ARRANGEMENT: Farwell works were filmed chronologically.
ACCESS/FINDING AIDS/BIBLIOGRAPHY: Farwell guide provides descriptions of titles
plus chronological and classified lists, with locations on corresponding
microfilm reels. Collections File ("Farwell, Brice") includes copies of
correspondence between Music Acquisitions Librarian
Robert Jones and Brice Farwell.
