Finding Information in the Library

 

How do patrons obtain reference assistance? Is reference assistance available over the phone
and/or by e-mail?


Mathematics Library staff members are always available to provide reference assistance during the hours the library is open. You may ask for help at the circulation desk, call 333-0258, or send an e-mail to library[at]math.uiuc.edu. E-mailed questions may not receive a response right away, especially if received after 5 pm. Usually, your in-person inquiry, call, or e-mail will be directed to one of the graduate assistants or library specialists, and we will work as quickly and efficently as possible to answer your question. More complicated reference requests are forwarded to the Mathematics Librarian. The Mathematics Library accepts reference questions from all patrons, although preference is given to those from University of Illinois students and faculty.
