Bertolt Brechts Werke UIUC

In co-operation with the German publishers, Suhrkamp Verlag, Chadwyck-Healey are now publishing the first authorized electronic edition of Brecht's works. This edition is based on Bertolt Brecht - Ausgewählte Werke in sechs Bänden - Jubiläumsausgabe zum 100. Geburtstag, edited by Werner Hecht, Wolfgang Jeske and Jan Knopf, which collects Brecht's works and writings in six volumes with brief notes on each text. For help with Brechts Werke, click here.


Die Bibel - Martin Luther Translation UIUC

This searchable version of the Luther translation of the Bible is derived from the edition published by the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft in 1984 and provided with their kind permission. Users can search for particular words or read entire passages.


Bibliographie der deutschen Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft UIUC

This bibliography, retrospective to 1985, contains entries for primary and secondary material for German literature and language studies. There are several search options, for instance, by author name, title of work, journal title, publication year, keyword, and locale. Simple and combination searches add greater flexibility to queries.

Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universal-Bibliothek UIUC

The electronic version of Die Deutsche Lyrik in Reclams Universal-Bibliothek covers almost 500 years of German lyric poetry and includes the work of over 500 authors from the 15th to the 20th century. It is published with the co-operation and support of Philipp Reclam jun., Stuttgart and covers all volumes of German poetry published within Reclams Universalbibliothek since 1945. It also contains the complete text of each poem and, in addition, contains material such as dedications and authorial notes which are an essential part of the original volumes. Publisher's prefaces and epilogues, introductions, editorial notes, biographies, glossaries and indices are not usually included.

MHGCD is the result of a close co-operation between the long-standing projects Names in Medieval German Literary Texts (University of Kiel: Dr. Horst P. Pütz) and The Conceptual Dictionary of Medieval German Literature (Bowling Green State University: Prof. Dr. Klaus M. Schmidt); both projects operate jointly since 1992.

For instance, to change the video resolution of a PC screen, go to Start, select Settings, and then double click on Display. A Display Properties template will appear. On this template, click on Settings. Under the section called Screen Area, move the bar to 1024/ 768 pixels and click OK. For Mac OS 10.4 and above, click on the Apple menu, choose System Preferences, then double-click Displays. Select 1024 x 768 from the list and click OK.
Remember to change your settings back upon finishing with the resource.
