Rare Book & Manuscript

The Rare Book & Manuscript Library collections span from books printed before 1501 to Twentieth-century fine press titles. Notably strong are the collections in Shakespeare, Milton, emblem books, the Spanish Golden Age, history of science, incunabula, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. The library is a depository for early manuscripts, rare books and literary manuscripts and strengths include the manuscripts of Marcel Proust and Carl Sandburg.
