The Slavic & East European Library concentrates on literature from the former Soviet Union, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia, Hungary, Romania, and Albania. The Doris Duke Reading Room houses current issues of approximately 1,000 periodicals and 110 newspapers in Western and area languages.
