Step One: Online Research Resources

As a student or faculty member of the University of Illinois Library, you have access to online journals, no matter where you are. First, you'll need to access all online materials through the Online Research Resources (ORR) page. This will help the library identify you an affiliated with the university. When you locate your journal/database, you will be prompted to login into the proxy server. You will need your NetId and password.
 
How do I access articles if they are not available in full-text?
 

Step Two: Take Us With You

The library has developed a guide for scholars who are working away from Urbana-Champaign, Take Us With You! If your article is not available in full-text, consider using the DocExpress service for a small fee. Are you having trouble getting connected? You can even contact a reference librarian from wherever you are using the Ask a Librarian service.

Step Three: Take Us to School

The Education and Social Science Library has compiled a multitude of resources geared toward undergradaute students who are engaged in their student teaching. The Take Us To School! site includes teaching resources, education research and reference resources, services for remote users and instrucitons on how to use other libraries. Includes selected internet resources in education. Also, check out the new Guide for Distance Learners in Education.

Can I pick up books at other institutions closer to my home?

Step Three: I-Share Libraries

As an affiliate of the University ofIllinois at Urbana-Champaign, you can use your i-card to pick up the books you need for research at any I-Share Library across the state of Illinois. If you have any questions, please call the Telephone Center at 217-333-8400. You can also request to have a book delivered to an I-Share Library close to you.
