• Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL, or ECLAC in English) - A regional commission of the United Nations that provides statistical reports, available for free download, on the economics and social panorama of Latin America. Available in English or Spanish.

• The World Factbook, published by the CIA. Select any country from the drop-down menu for information on its geography, people, government, economy, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues.

• Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) - A group of countries "sharing a commitment to democratic government and the market economy." Includes an extensive page of statistics by topic, documents, and news releases. Available in English or French.

• International Financial Statistics - Database of national accounts, exchange rates, inflation, and employment data for the 184 member countries (select from a drop-down menu by clicking "Country Tables"). Published by the International Monetary Fund. English.

• Latin Focus - Provides current economic indicators, briefings, and forecasts for several major Latin American countries. Includes links to current country newspapers, official statistics, country reports, etc.

• Latin American and Caribbean Statistical Information, Tulane University. "This page provides links to statistical information on the economies and population of the Latin American countries."

• Population Research Center. Information on population and demography issues for the Caribbean and Central and South America.

• Latin American Election Statistics, a guide to Latin American sources compiled by the University of California at San Diego Latin American Librarian.

• Electoral Data Sets - free electoral data about five South American countries. Currently only goes to 2000.

• The Population Index, Office of Population Research, Harvard University. "An annotated bibliography of recently published books, journal articles, working papers, and other materials on population topics."  Using this site one can search by geographic region or country to find article citations on population issues; the site covers years 1986-2000.

Andean Region

• Comunidad Andina. Web site of the Andean Community General Secretariat. Offers statistical reports, socio-economic indicators, and trade and industry data.

Brasil

• Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística

United States

• Hispanic Population of the United States, from the U.S. Census Bureau.
