  • Ibero-American Institute of the Prussian Heritage Foundation - "A center of interdisciplinary scientific and cultural exchange focused on Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. The Institute houses Europe's largest library specialized in Ibero-American culture. It is a non-university research center and is dedicated to enhancing the dialogue between Germany and Latin America." Includes the Institute's catalogs and links. Available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

  • Centro de Información y Documentación Científica - The Center of Scientific Information and Documentation, based in Spain, offers to searchable databases on its website. One concerns Latin America in Spanish newspapers and the other searches papers about Latin America written by European authors.

  • European Network of Information and Documentation on Latin America (Red Europa de Informatión y Documentación sobre América Latina, or REDIAL) - "A nonprofit association of some 35 European institutions, both public and private, which are active in the fields of research, information and documentation, and librarianship, with a focus on Latin American Studies." Includes publications and links. Spanish.

  • Institute for Ibero-American Studies - "The Institute for Ibero-American Studies (IIK) was founded in 1962 with the objective of observing and scientifically analysing political, economic and social development processes in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. By closely linking research, documentation and information work the IIK aims to serve interested parties from the worlds of science, politics and business as well as a broad spectrum of the public engaged in the problems of the region."   • Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLAC) - "An interdisciplinary research unit concerned with the economic development, political and social organization, and cultural contributions of Latin America and the Caribbean.  The Centre works to build academic and cultural links between these regions and Canada; to inform researchers, policy advisors, and the public on matters concerning the regions; and to assist in the development of research and teaching institutions that directly benefit the peoples of the regions." Located at York University. English.
    • CERLAC Publications - Includes bulletins, working papers, occasional papers, and reports, all available in full text. English.
    • Archives of LACYORK@YORKU.CA - A searchable archive of the CERLAC listserv (email discussion list). English.

  • Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango - Library of the Central Bank of Colombia, a cultural center dedicated to promote multiple activities related to the arts, education, and culture in general. In Spanish.

    • ELDIS Gateway to Development Information  - "A gateway to information on development issues," which provides an ever increasing number of descriptions and links to a variety of information sources, including online documents,
    • website directories, databases, library catalogues, bibliographies, email discussion lists, research project information, news, and country profiles. Hosted by the Institute of Development Studies. Available in English or Spanish.
    • British Library for Development Studies (BLDS) - "Europe's largest research collection on economic and social change in developing countries." Located at the Institute of Development Studies. English.
    • The Society for Latin American Studies (SLAS) - "The principal association in the United Kingdom for those interested in the study of Latin American affairs." Members include "academics, diplomats, journalists, and research analysts from business and non-governmental organisations." English.
    • Centre for Latin American Cultural Studies - A research center for Latin American Studies in the humanities and social sciences. Includes links and resources such as working papers, conference papers, photography, dissertations, and more. Located at the University of Manchester. English.
    • Institute for the Study of the Americas - "The purpose of the new Institute is to promote, coordinate and provide a focus for research and postgraduate teaching on the Americas – Canada, the US, Latin America and the Caribbean – in the University of London." English.

        Mexico

    • El Colegio de la Frontera Sur - A center of research and education at the postgraduate level, focusing on the development of Mexico's southern border. In Spanish.

        Peru

        Spain

    • RedIRIS (Spanish National Research Network) - The national and academic research network of Spain. Includes publications, such as the RedIRIS Bulletin. Funded by the National Plan for Research and Development and managed by the Scientific Research Council. Available in English or Spanish.
    • Instituto Cervantes/Centro Virtual Cervantes - The Instituto Cervantes was created by Spain in 1991 to promote and teach the Spanish language as well as Spanish and Hispano-American culture.  Their Centro Virtual Cervantes provides a forum for students, teachers, and researchers to learn about and discuss the Spanish language and culture. A digital library in its own right. In Spanish.
    • Biblioteca Nacional de España - The National Library of Spain is the main information and document centre regarding Spanish and Latin American culture in written form, due to the Legal Deposit system in place since the 18th century. Includes virtual exhibits. Available in English or Spanish.
