  • Commission for Environmental Cooperation - An organization created by Canada, Mexico, and the United States "to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and promote the effective enforcement of environmental law." Includes news and publications. Available in English, Spanish, and French.
  • Planeta.com - "A clearinghouse for practical ecotourism around the globe." See the "World Guides" links on the left to limit the region. English.
  • Ecoweb - News on environmental legislation in Latin America. In Spanish.
  • InfoNatura: Birds and Mammals of Latin America - Conservation status, taxonomic, and distribution information for 5,500 bird and mammal species in Latin America and the Caribbean. Sponsored by NatureServe, a non-profit biodiversity organization. English.
  • Forest Conservation Portal - Recent worldwide news about forest conservation, as well as archives by region. Sponsored by forests.org, Inc. English.
  • Volcanoes in South and Central America - Stats and pictures on volcanoes by country, from Volcano World, "the web's premier source of volcano info." Hosted  by the University of North Dakota. English.
  • Greenpeace Global Presence - A map of Greenpeace locations throughout the world, with links to their websites.  Currently the Latin American presence includes Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. English.
  • Central America Ecology and Environment - "Data and information about ecological, environmental, Earth Science, and related topics pertaining to Central America." Created by a group of "young Central American and North American scientists." Available in English and Spanish.


Brazil

  • Base de Dados Tropical (BDT) - A portal of Brazilian environmental information, including the Species Database. A department of the André Tosello Foundation. Available in English and Portuguese.


Costa Rica

  • Conservation - An article on deforestation, conservation, and national parks in Costa Rica. From the online version of the Costa Rica Handbook by Christopher Baker. English.
  • Ecosytems -  An article on dry forests, rain forests, mangroves, and orchids in Costa Rica. From the online version of the Costa Rica Handbook by Christopher Baker. English.


Ecuador

  • Charles Darwin Foundation - An organization "dedicated to the conservation of the Galapagos ecosystems." Includes news and a database of articles and publications. Available in English, Spanish, and French.
  • Jatun Sacha Foundation - "The largest non-profit conservation organization in Ecuador." Available in English and Spanish.

  • Centro de Calidad Ambiental (CCA) - An educational center for the analysis, evaluation, prevention, and solution of environmental problems. Part of the Tecnológico de Monterrey campus system. In Spanish.
  • A Dying Sea - A special report from 1999 on the status of the Sea of Cortez by the Sacramento Bee. English.
  • Instituto Nacional de Ecología - Scientific and technical information about environmental problems. Includes news and publications. In Spanish (with some publications available in English).
  • Parques Nacionales de Mexico - A list of Mexico's national parks by region, based on books published by Mexico's National Institute of Ecology. From planeta.com. In Spanish.
