  • Aztlan - An e-journal of on-line anthropology articles from the discussion list for Precolombian studies.  English.
  • Latin American Archaeology Database - Based from the University of Pittsburgh, this is a collection of datasets formed with the intent to bring together online/computer resources about Latin American archaeology with those resources in print. English and Spanish.

  • Quipu - Reference portal focused on Web-based resources to support research in Andean archaeology. English.
  • The Empire of the Incas - a brief overview of the Incan Empire as well as a few links for further research. English.

Caribbean

Central America (Mesoamerica/Mayan)

  • The Caracol Archaeological Project - Site documenting the archaeological research undertaken at Caracol, Belize, which sought to examine the linkages between successful warfare, as recorded on the stone monuments in the center of that site, and the archaeological record found in the outlying settlement. Created by Drs. Diane and Arlan Chase of the University of Central Florida. English.
  • Ancient Mesoamerican Civilizations - Focusing on the Maya, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Aztec people, this site contains information and links on various topics of the culture and people.
  • BRASS/El Pilar Program - A site devoted to the Belize River Archeological Settlement Survey program. El Pilar is a Mayan archeological reserve on the border between Belize and Guatemala. The program is directed by the ISBER/MesoAmerican Research Center of the University of California Santa Barbara. English.
  • Mayan Epigraphic Database Project - "The Mayan Epigraphic Database Project (MED) is an experiment in networked scholarship with the purpose of enhancing Classic Mayan epigraphic research. At present, MED consists of a relational database of glyphs ("gnumbers"), images, phonetic values ("pvalues"), and semantic values ("svalues") according to the consensus among various American Mayanists (MacLeod and Reents-Budet 1994). Also present is the beginning of an archive of digitally transcribed Mayan texts." Owned by Raf Alvarado, Coordinator of Humanities and Social Sciences Computing at Princeton. English.
  • Rabbit in the Moon - This site is dedicated to exploring and explaining Mayan culture through artifacts. Includes sections on the Mayan hieroglyphics, calendar, games, and architecture. English.

Colombia

  • Museo del Oro - Homepage of the Museum of Colombia's national bank and their Spanish-language Boletín, which discusses the anthropology and archeology of Colombia as relates to the artifacts in the museum.  Spanish.

Mexico

  • Tlahuica Cultures of Morelos - "This web site and associated links provide information on the little-known Tlahuica culture of Morelos" (Mexico). Created by Dr. Michael E. Smith of the University at Albany (State University of New York). English.

Venezuela

  • Orinoco Online - Project Orinoco is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the indigenous societies of the Venezuelan Amazon. The site features a collection of objects used in the rituals of daily life, as well as geographic and ethnographic information about these cultures.  Sponsored by the Fundación Cisneros. Available in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
