Computer Hardware/Software
- The Library IT Workstation and Network Support unit (WNS) purchases, installs, and maintains most of the computers and computer peripherals that are used in the Library. There are over 1,000 computers, hundreds of printers, and many other peripherals located in 23 buildings scattered across campus.
- Standard Staff Configuration -- WNS maintains a standard suite of software products on all staff workstations. Additional software applications can be added to individual workstations as needed.
- Standard Public Configuration -- WNS maintains a standard suite of software products on all public workstations.
- Loanable Computer Equipment -- Library IT provides loanable laptops and projectors for use by Library faculty/staff on a short-term loan basis.
- U3 Flash Drives on Public PCs -- Some Library users are not able to use their U3 flash drives on public machines. Library IT is looking into the problem. ACES Library web site provides a step by step instruction on how to deal with such situation for now.
- Computer Purchase/Install Requests -- Library staff may log a work request for a computer hardware purchase or installation.
- Software Purchase/Install Requests -- Library staff may log a work request for a software purchase or installation for their office workstations.
- Staff Printer Supply - a detailed list of current staff printers and the CS# on ordering replacement toner.
- CITES Software WebStore - Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to receive significant discounts on over one hundred software applications offered by the University of Illinois CITES Software WebStore.
