Staff Computer Accounts
- Net ID -- Your Network ID (Net ID) is assigned to you by CITES. It is your login to many Library and University computing and networking services.
- You must have a Net ID in order to get accounts on Library-managed systems.
- Your Net ID also determines your University Express Email address--netid@uiuc.edu.
- NetID Password Manager -- The NetID Password Manager allows you to reset your NetID password if you have forgotten it.
- Active Directory (AD) account -- Activate your AD account at this site. The UIUC Active Directory (AD) is managed by CITES. It provides authentication for a large number of systems and services across the Urbana campus. Your AD account provides access to Library staff workstations.
- Home directory (H drive) -- All Library faculty/staff (GA's upon request from supervisor) have private file storage space that is backed up nightly on the Library's fileserver. This storage space is called the Home directory, often referred to as the H drive.
- Oracle calendar account -- Having an Oracle calendar gives you an online calendar and address book and a variety of other related services. There is a monthly cost of $2 to the Library for each account.
- Voyager account -- Every Library faculty/staff member/GA who works with the Voyager staff clients needs an individual Voyager account. Student employees generally share generic Voyager accounts created for the units where they work--although occasional exceptions are made at the request of the unit head.
- Datebase Server account -- Library staff can request accounts on Library IT database servers for database projects sponsored by their units and departments. Library IT provides both MSSQL and MySQL database services - when you request for a database server account, please include a detailed description of the project and your database needs so we can decide which service will fulfill your requirements.
