What payment options are available?

IFM (ILL Fee Management through OCLC) is the preferred method of payment, however there are many options available for your convenience.

Credit Card payment is accepted by using VISA ® or Master Card ®. The following information is required for the processing of credit card payment:
Type of Card (VISA ® or Master Card ®), Credit Card Number, Expiration Date, Name as it appears on the card.

Deposit Accounts are available to institutions as well as individuals. To open a deposit account, please send a check for a minimum of $200.00 U.S. dollars payable to the University of Illinois.
Send payment to: ILL/DD, 128 Library, 1408 West Gregory Drive, Urbana, IL 61801

Payment must be made with a check drawn in U.S. dollars or with a U.S. Postal money order. If payment is submitted in foreign funds, a charge of up to $25.00 will be debited from the account to cover the conversion from foreign currency. Once payment is received, you will be assigned an account number and will receive regular statements on activity levels. The account number must be included on all requests to avoid delays in processing.

IFLA Vouchers are accepted as payment from international requesters. The charge for a basic loan is 3 IFLA Vouchers. The charge for a photocopy is 2 IFLA Vouchers.

International Postal Coupons are no longer accepted as a form of payment.

What is a FEIN number and why do you need it?

FEIN stands for Federal Employer Identification Number. The Office of Business Affairs at the University of Illinois requires that every requester provide their FEIN. If you are not aware of your institution's FEIN, contact the unit that prepares your payroll or tax records. The FEIN must be supplied on every request and serves as the customer account number.

Can individuals request materials from the University of Illinois collections?

Individuals can request photocopies from the University of Illinois collections by sending a request through email. Email: irrc-128@uiuc.edu
Charges are a minimum of $10.00 per citation. (Special format materials will be charged at the same rate that the IRRC is charged for additional services). We recommend that you visit your local institution or public library and place your ILL request through them, since you may be able to obtain the materials for free. Additionally, all requests for loans must be placed through your local institution or public library. We cannot loan materials to individuals. Payment options for photocopied materials include personal check, Visa or Mastercard.

How can my system connect to yours via Z39.50?

Libraries using systems that allow a targeted search via Z39.50 may want direct searches to our OPAC. Information is available at: Z39.50 Instructions from the CARLI website. Please note that the University of Illinois shares a system (I-Share) with many other institutions in Illinois (CARLI). Libraries must use the username UIU to access the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign Library database.
