Major Responsibilities:
As Instruction Coordinator, Documents Library, my job is to plan, organize, and promote
instructional services and programs, including course-integrated Documents Library instruction,
for undergraduate- and graduate-level students, as well as to provide
training opportunities for other users, such as faculty, staff, and
residents of the 15th congressional district, who need to utilize U.S.
and Illinois State government information, and also United Nations sources.
In-class/in-library sessions; tours; consultations; demonstrations of
databases, cd-roms, and the WWW; and government information guides,
including web resources; are available. I also coordinate the Economics
173 library instruction program, a joint educational effort of the
Documents, Reference, and Commerce libraries. Additional Documents
Library duties include: reference, management of the LEGI-SLATE and
LIS (the Illinois Legislative Information System) databases, and
supervision of the Illinois depository documents processing and other
graduate assistant activities. I currently have underway two
computer-aided instructional projects, one related to social policy
information, the other, statistical information.
