UIUC Online Catalog
http://www.library.uiuc.edu/catalog/
The online catalog can be searched to find books, journals, newspapers, and other materials held in the university libraries. If you are not able to get to a UIUC library, you can call the Library Telephone Center at 1-866-262-1510 and request that materials be sent to your nearest I-Share library for pickup.
If you wish to limit your search to children's and young adult literature, you can do so via a Advanced Search. In the first dropdown Search by: list, select Subject Words, and enter juvenile in the Search for: box. Then, in the next Search for: box, enter your keyword, author name, or other search criteria. For instance, if I wanted to find children's books with the word "manatees" in the title, my search screen would look like this:
Online Research Resources
http://www.library.uiuc.edu/orr/
This is the UIUC library system's central interface for electronic journals, article databases, indexes, and online reference tools. To check whether a particular journal title is available online, go to the Journals & Newspapers tab, enter either title keywords or the start of the title (selecting the appropriate radio button below), and click Search. If the journal is available, link(s) will be provided in the results list.
For help using Online Research Resources, see its help pages and, if you don't find the answer you need, ask a librarian!
