The OPM is the human resource department for the Federal Government. It maintains the central database for federal employment (USA JOBS) and sets hiring and salary requirements.

USAJOBS homepage
USAJOBS is the official job database of the Federal Government. It also contains information about federal employment, Veterans' preferances, and the Presidential Management Internship Program.

FedWorld Federal Job Search
FedWorld is similar to USAJobs but is not as comprehensive. It is, however, easier to search than USAJobs.

General Schedule Pay adjusted by locality
There a variety of pay schedules that the Federal government uses. The most common is the General Schedule scale given to mostly low to mid level federal employees. There are separate scales for law enforcement, executives, and other specialized federal employees. Pay schedules are also adjusted by locality.

Roll Call's Classified Section
Roll Call is a bi-weekly newspaper published in Washington DC. It is the best source for securing employment on Capitol Hill.
