Lesson 5: Document Number Searching

UN documents have their own numbering system, called "symbols," that identifies the issuing bodies of documents, the year or session that the document was produced, and other useful information as well.  To learn more about symbols, see the UN Classification System

To search for a document by document number, you may use either a complete or partial number. Let's say you found a UN document last week that you want to read again. If you already know the complete document number, you can go ahead and search for the document.

  1. In input box, type A/52/PV.50.
  2. In drop-down menu, choose in Document Number.
  3. Click Search button.
