web portal for children. Links to history, homework, arts, careers,
and more is available. Also, check out their

more games and activities. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has developed Girl Power! to encourage the development of girls ages 9-13. Building Blocks for Children has been designed by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention for children ages 3-6. There are games, sing-songs, and activities to complete. Blast Off is a game from the MyPyramid website where kids can reach Planet Power through food decisions and physical activities. At the EPA Environmental Kids Club you can learn about your environment, recycling & garbage, plants & animals, and create art projects. Information is also available for teachers. The Game Room at the EPA Environmental Kids Club provides ten different games and activities relating to the environment. Assembled by NASA, The Space Place has projects, cool facts, games, and information that you can share with your friends about space. The White House for Kids links to information about the presidency, the White House, and the current president's time in office. A history, tours, and information about the pets in the White House are all available. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created a game called Disaster Discovery for kids. You can play online, download the game to your computer, or print the game to play it at home. The National Institute of Environmental and Health Sciences created the NIEHS Website for Kids with links to games, hot topics, riddles, coloring books, and more. BAM: Body And Mind is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Information about your body, physical activity, diseases, and food and nutrition is accessible. BAM Game Room provides links to games that focus on the body and mind. The National Gallery of Art allows you to create your own art online at The Art Zone. The National Center for Education Statistics provides Games & Activites to keep your mind active. Money Central Station is a game designed to teach you about money from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Kids Page from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service contains information on endangered species. games, puzzles, and resource sheets for the classroom. Center for Health Statistics FASTATS (NCHS) provides health related
information and statistics particularly relating to women. The NCHS
also supplies citizens with general health statistics and information. ChildStats is maintained by The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics that has been assembled by several government agencies. Statistical information includes the subjects relating to population and family characteristics, economic security, health, behavior and social environment, and education for the most part. The Census Bureau provide information on Children's Statistics and General Information. The National Childrens
Study was commissioned by Congress and follows the development of
children from birth to age 21 through factors of health, growth, and
environment.

Parents is a web portal that contains links to all sorts of
information that relates to parenting. Some information that is
included: becoming a parent, child care, young children, teens, education,
health, and safety among others. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for the National Child Care Information Center. Topics range from Head Start, school readiness, health issues, and early childhood education systems. The National Child Care Information Center is supported by the Child Care Bureau. The Administration for Children and Families is also under the direction of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There is information about services to families as well as links to information on the state and local levels. MedlinePlus: Child Development is a service provided by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. It is a web portal to health information relating to child development through the latest news, overviews, National Institute of Health bulletins, and a related issues section. Children's Health Protection is a source maintained by the Environmental Protection Agency that provides tips to protect children and potential environmental hazards. MyPyramid.gov for Kids contains information on nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. The Food & Nutrition Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has established the Women, Infants, and Children Program to distribute information about nutrition to those target audiences.
