Celebrating Access to Government
 Information: 1907-2007

Since 1813, the U.S. government has deposited its publications in libraries in every Congressional district in the U.S. so that residents can monitor the activities of their government wherever they live.  In 1907, and amendment to the Morrill Act gave depository status to the University of Illinois and 42 other land grant universities.  There are currently nearly 1,250 depository libraries, including the UIUC Government Documents Library.

Thank you for helping us celebrate 100 years of U.S. government information at the University of Illinois Library!
