Chapter Award:
The City of Chicago for the Calumet Area Land Use Plan in recognition of its bold magnitude, the manner in which it turns brownfield liabilities into natural assets; how it balance industrial and open space/recreational needs and its concise and crisp presentation.
Honorable Mention Award:
Will County for The Will County Land Resource Management Plan in recognition of its comprehensive and thorough approach, its flexibility, the manner in which it realistically addresed issues and its excellent graphics and illustration.
Honorable Mention Award
The City of Springfield for its Spring R/UDAT 2002 Project in recognition of a project undertaken as a citizen initiative that utilized planning to provide bold solutions.
Honorable Mention Award
The Metropolitan Planning Council for Revise, Recreate, Rezone: A Neighborhood Guide to Zoning in recognition of its timeliness in advance of the ongoing comprehensive revision to the Chicago Zoning Ordinance, the easy to understand manner in which it was written, its well organized format and its transferability to other municipalities.
The Chaddick Institute of DePaul University for its Technical Workshops in recognition of its quality, its topical and timely program and its practitioner-oriented program.
Honorable Mention Awards
The City of Des Plaines for its Des Plaines Library Plaza Project in recognition of a bold vision that succeeded as a result of its evolution and the persistence of those implementing it.
Kane County for the Kane County Rustic Roads Program in recognition of the project's alternative vision for the future of the County, its successful implementation of the 2020 Land Resource Management Plan, its transferability and its use of a calender to publicize the program.

Community First, Inc. for its Workbook for Successful Development in recognition of the unique manner in which citizens channeled their energy and emotion into a beneficial and succesful project, the example it sets in demonstrating what citizens can provide for their communities, its high quality graphics, its transferability and its focus on preserving neighborhood character.
Honorable Mention Award
The Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition for the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition Project in recognition of a project requiring tremendous coordination, involving a mix of urban and rural participants and fulfilling widely divergent goals.
Grace Bazylewski for her leadership in the Chapter's Pro Bono Committee in recognition of her leadership on behalf of the Chapter in providing no-cost planning services to communities in need.
