. Alternatives Journal is an independent Canadian environmental magazine that has been published since 1971. American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Illinois Chapter News.
The American Society of Landscape Architects was organized in 1899 as the first professional organization for landscape architects. Today, over 15,000 landscape architects in public, private and academic practice nationwide are members of the ASLA. Illinois has one of the largest chapters of ASLA in the nation with nearly 500 members. Their monthly newsletter is available at the American Society of Landscape Architects Newsletter.

Anthos. Swiss journal written in German that focuses on various aspects of landscape architecture including: Green and landscape planning, open space designing, garden architecture, nature and landscape protection, technology in the garden and landscape gardening, care of historic gardens etc. Each issue is dedicated to an in-depth analysis of a specific topic.

Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research
. This journal strives to share HUD-funded and other research on housing and urban policy issues with scholars, government officials, and others involved in setting policy and determining the direction of future research. . City Limits is a popular magazine focusing on topics of neighborhood revitalization in New York City. Cornell Plantations Magazine. This semi-annual magazine, now in its 59th year, is small in size, but big on information. The goal is to keep readers up-to-date on the ongoing research, outreach, and other education being done at Cornell Plantations, as well as at botanical gardens and arboreta, around the world. Subjects covered include articles on horticulture, ecology, botanical research, and ethnobotany, and lots of tips on gardening and landscape design. Authors range from Cornell University faculty to Plantations staff and volunteers.

Cultural Geographies. Formerly Ecumene, Cultural Geographies builds on Ecumene's reputation for innovative, thoughtful and stylish contributions. This unique journal of cultural geographies will continue publishing scholarly research and provocative commentaries and the latest findings on the cultural appropriation and politics of nature, landscape, environment and place space. In addition to articles, Art Full Text indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals. Indexing coverage begins 1984; abstracting coverage begins with January 1994. The abstracts range from 50 to 300 words and describe the content and scope of the source articles. Full-text coverage begins in 1997.

The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals offers a comprehensive listing of journal articles published worldwide on architecture and design, archaeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation. Avery indexes not only the international scholarly and popular periodical literature, but also the publications of professional associations, US state and regional periodicals, and the major serial publications on architecture and design of Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. Coverage is from 1977 to the present.

The PAIS database covers selected journal articles, books, statistics, yearbooks, directories, conference proceedings, pamphlets, reports, government documents, microfiche, and some documents from the Internet. The HUD website contains articles exclusively dedicated to housing and community development issues. It contains more than 10,000 full-abstract citations to research reports, articles, books, monographs, and data sources in housing policy, building technology, economic development, urban planning, and a host of other relevant fields. This searchable database contains proven solutions to common social, economic and environmental problems of an urbanising and globalising world. Over 1600 practices from 140 countries demonstrate practical ways in which public, private and civil society sectors are working together to improve governance, eradicate poverty, provide housing, land and basic services, protect the environment and support economic development. The database is a powerful tool for analyzing current trends and emerging issues; networking with the people and organizations involved in implementation; capacity-building and knowledge management.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. The Global Urban Observatory helps governments gather urban data and monitors critical urban indicators.
