The loan period for most books other than reserves is four weeks for undergraduate students, and sixteen weeks for faculty and graduate students. Books may be renewed indefinitely provided they have not been requested by another patron. Patrons can renew the books themselves using the Borrower Info options in Illinet Online. Please call CPLA at 333-0424 if there are any renewal problems.
New books are shelved separately along the east wall and have the same loan period as books from the open stacks.
Current issues of periodicals do not circulate and are kept behind the desk. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in alphabetical order along the east wall of the Reading Room and are non-circulating. Exceptions are made only by the Librarian and the Senior Library Specialist.
Reference books and books kept in the locked case are for use in the library only. Some locked case books may circulate with special permission from the Librarian or the Senior Library Specialist.
