In addition to over 16,000 books, 267 journals, 27 newspapers, and 400 videos, the collection includes two of the largest collections of print advertisements in the world. The D'Arcy Advertising Collection of 1 million print ads and the Woodward Advertising Collection of over 4 million ads.  

In 1999, the Fund for Investigative Journalism Collection (FIJ) was donated to the Communications Library. 

Four times a year, the Library features its new acquisitions in the New Book List.
