Introduction
This tutorial will walk you through the steps involved in answering a M&A question using SDC Platinum Database.
Question: How many mergers and acquisitions occured since 1998 in the consumer finance industry.
Note: This database is limited to current UIUC students, faculity, and staff. You must use this source in the BEL computer room. Only one user at a time can use this database between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. More than one user is allowed during all other hours when BEL is open. This resource goes from 1979 to the last 30 days for Domestic Mergers, 1985 to the last 30 days for International Mergers, and 1988 to the last 30 days for Joint Ventures/Alliances. Also, SDC Platinum has an activity time-out of 20 minutes.
