Introduction to the Tutorial
This tutorial is designed to assist individuals in using the International Financial Statistics, or IFS, on-line database. The tutorial will present a number of research questions and then provide step-by-step instructions in how to answer those research questions using IFS.
The IFS database provides information on National Accounts, Exchange rates, Interest Rates, Reserves, Government Finance, Exports, Industrial Production, Population, and other international financial statistics.
Note: The IFS database uses a number of different codes to describe its data. To understand these codes, look in the paper copy of the IFS Yearbook. Unfortunately, the IFS database does not provide an online guide to these codes.
