Spring Finals Hours

Ricker Library will remain open and operating on the usual schedule throughout finals week, starting on May 2, 2008.

Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Please note, the library will be CLOSED during commencement weekend, May 10-11, 2008. Good luck with finals and have a great summer!

 

New Digital Scanner

The Reference Room of the University Library, second floor, has acquired a gorgeous new digital scanner which can scan images from books and other materials up to 24 x 17 inches. Users can send images to a jump drive via a USB port, email the image to themselves, or temporarily store them on a local directory before moving files to Netfiles or alternate locations. The service is free!

Temple Buell Atrium Reference Service

We are pleased to announce a new service available from the Ricker Library of Architecture and Art and the City Planning and Landscape Architecture Library. Joe Zumalt, the interim head of City Planning Library, and Jing Liao, Assistant Librarian at Ricker will offer library assistance in the Atrium at Temple Hoyne Buell Hall from 1:00 -- 2:30 PM on November 7 and 14. The purpose is to help students and faculty on term papers, projects, research and to answer any questions you never had a chance to ask about our library resources.

The Spring 2007 issue of the Ricker Library Newsletter is now out.

Introducing MAD CAD

The Ricker Library is please to offer a new on-line resource MAD CAD. “MAD CAD is a state-of-the-art subscription based reference database online, containing building codes, knowledge-based design solutions and, guidelines to meet the codes. MAD CAD will provide you access to cross-referenced collections of building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire, and maintenance codes from BOCA, SBCCI, ICBO, ICC, and NFPA. MAD CAD goes beyond compiling national standards, and gives you immediate access to comprehensive state and local codes to meet your unique architectural, engineering and educational solutions.” Please note: Through the generosity of the Grainger Library, we may now have two simultaneous users accessing MAD CAD..

New Ricker Library Web site, August 23, 2006

We're introducing a new design for the Ricker Library web site for the Fall 2006 semester. We hope it will be a bit easier to use than the earlier design. Portions of the site are still under construction and we expect we'll be making modifications during the next few weeks. Please let us know if you encounter any problems, or have any comments.
