Books
Finding books should start with using the University of Illinois Online Library Catalog. If a particular book or books in your subject area are not available, consult the I-Share Catalog. The I-Share catalog is a central catalog for CARLI, a library consortium composed of over 65 Illinois libraries, of which the University of Illinois is a member. If you cannot find your book in either of these catalogs, consult WorldCat--a catalog of thosands of libraries worldwide.

Articles
In order to find articles you must use an article database or browse a journal either in print or electronically.. There are many article databases and electronic journals (all available via the Online Research Resources). If you know you need a particular article or particular database follow the below links.

Art Full Text / Retrospective
Once launched, select BOTH "Art Full Text and Art Retrospective
In order to search articles from 1929-present, both databases must be selected. (Art Full Text: 1983-present, Art Retrospective: 1929-1983). Indexes articles covering the fields of art, art history, architectural history and applied art.
Coverage: 1929 - present
*Only a certain percentage of articles are full text.
Full text will be denoted by the following two icons:

ArtBibliographies Modern
Indexes articles for artists and movements from the late 19th century to the late 20th century.
Use the "Advanced Search " tab

to enter in multiple search terms and specify your search.

Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA)
The most comprehensive index to European and American art from late antiquity to the present. Includes articles, book reviews, conference proceedings and dissertations, exhibition and dealer's catalogs. The database is updated quarterly.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
Index to Architectural Periodicals offers a comprehensive listing of journal articles published worldwide on architecture and design, archaeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation.
