Ricker Library has a small collection of videos available primarily for classroom use. Titles include: Keck & Keck Architects, Japan: Three Generations of Avant-Garde Architects; The New Modernists: Six European Architects; and The New Modernists: Nine American Architects. A list of Ricker Library's video holdings is reproduced on a separate page linked above called "Video List"; this list is also available at the circulation desk. Please note that there are additional videos relating to art and architecture available in the Undergraduate Library Media Center (e.g. Trajan's Column, Lorenzo Ghiberti: Gates of Paradise, John Nash and London, Pride of Place). Check the Online Catalog (limited to videos) for these and other videos.
All videos are VHS. Please note that Ricker library does NOT have facilities to view videos. The videos are available for classroom use by faculty only. We ask that faculty make arrangements in advance to check out videos, which is best done between 8:30am and 5:00pm Mon-Fri. Please contact Chris Quinn in the library for questions concerning videos. Faculty should be aware that the Undergraduate Library Media Center has many other videos pertaining to art and architecture. For information regarding the video collection of the Undergraduate Library and to make arrangements to check out videos held there, contact Mary Laskowski, Undergraduate Library, MC-522 or call 333-2640. Videos owned by the UIUC Library system are listed in the online catalog and may be searched by titles, etc.
Note: Ricker library does not have a separate budget for the purchase of videos. All videos on this list were either gifts to the library or were received through the UIUC Library Non-Print Competition, which is held in Fall and Spring semesters each year. Ricker library welcomes suggestions for this competition. Please contact Jane Block or Chris Quinn if you have any recommendations.
