Image Folders in Instruction:
Both students and professors can add comments to a particular image in an Image Folder / group. In order to access this portion of ARTstor, you must first be logged in. From the Folder Administration tab underneath the Tools menu you will be able to apply instructor and student access privileges to the folder and begin using the Instructor Commentary section and the Personal Notes area.

Assigning Access Codes (this process can also be done when creating a Shared Folder)
1. Under the Tools option on the green navigation bar, click on Folder Administration . You will be taken to a dialog box with 3 option tabs. The default tab is the Folders/Group tab. This displays all Folders and Image Groups.
2. Select the second option tab labeled Access Control . Here you will be able to assign access codes and passwords so that others, after being given the access codes and passwords, will be able to view the images in your created groups, see your commentary as the instructor and be able to add their own commentary as a student.
3. Notice it prompts you to create both a "READ” and a “READ-WRITE” access code. If you do not want your students to be able to add or delete images, you do not need a “READ-WRITE” code.
*Note: You cannot use the same access code and password combination for both the “READ” and “READ-WRITE” capabilities.
Print a copy of the "Course Folder Handout" to provide your students with instructions for accessing the images and for providing them with the login and password information.
4. Students may “log-on” to your image group with the access code and password with which you provide them. Once they have done so, you will be able to view their “profile” under the third tab, Student Administration . By clicking on the particular Work Folder you are interested in, you can see who has “logged-on”.
5. By double clicking a student's name you can see their email address, their privilege, and you can add comments pertaining to the student for your records.
