Identification cards must be shown when books are borrowed. There is no limit on the number of books which one person may borrow,
and a book may be renewed as many times as needed, provided no other person has made a request (hold) for it. Books may be
renewed over the telephone by calling the telephone center at 333-8400 or online on the My Account function in the Online Library Catalog.
Reference books and periodicals (bound and unbound) are for use in the ALS Library only. Books borrowed from I-SHARE schools and interlibrary loan
may have shorter loan periods and cannot always be renewed.
Reserve books and file folders are for course use, and a different lending policy is in effect for their use. There are 3 types of reserve items: 1) those which must be used in the library during the day and may go out overnight (red reserve tag/white charge card); 2) those which may be borrowed for one week (green reserve tag/green card); and 3) those which must stay in the library at all times (red tag/pink card). All reserve items are subject to the reserve fine if not returned when due.
During fall and spring semesters, overnight reserve books and folders may be taken out at 7 p.m. on Sunday - Thursday nights, and at 4
p.m. on Friday and Saturday afternoons. They are due at 9:30 am Monday - Friday, 11 am Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Overnight
reserve books are always due the day after they are taken out. One week reserve books are due at 8 p.m. of the day one week after
they are taken out.
The reserve area is open to all library users on a self-serve basis. Books in the reserve area are arranged by call number, and file folders
are arranged by course name and number. To locate a book on reserve, find the call number, either in the course file or from the Online Library Catalog: Course Reserves.
Choose the instructor or course name/number from the drop-down menu to find a list of materials on reserve.
Reserve books and folders:
$2.00 for each hour or fraction thereof that the library is open
