What's Available?

How to Apply

• Bring an application to Library Human Resources in the University Library, Suite 127.



• Be sure to complete BOTH sides of the application.



• Your application will be kept on file for one semester.



• Sometimes, supervisors browse our files looking for student workers, so it’s important to keep your personal information updated.



• Available positions within the Library will be updated on a weekly basis (What's Available?).



• Be sure to let each Unit know you have an application on file with our office. A library phone list is available for your convenience.

If You Are Hired

• You'll need to return to our office in Suite 127 with a yellow card (card can be obtained from your employer) and to complete additional paperwork. Bring a University of Illinois I-Card and Social Security Card, or a Passport with you.
  
  
• You will also be required to complete information on NESSIE New Hire (Employee Information, W-4, Loan Default, Direct Deposit, and Ethics Form).




Permanent Residents should also bring their University of Illinois I-Card, Social Security Card, and their A Card to the office in order to complete the I-9 form.

• International students should also bring a passport and an I-20. After you complete the information on NESSIE New Hire, you need to go to the Payroll Office to complete your W-4.



• The Library's minimum wage is $7.50 an hour.
