Commerce Library Rings in Academic Year With New Name: "BEL" The Commerce Library has been renamed as the Business and Economics Library or “BEL” (www.library.uiuc.edu/bel). University librarian Paula Kaufman announced the new name on June 28. Students and faculty have been enthusiastic about the change, which was suggested by a business school student who served on a library advisory committee. According to Becky Smith, associate professor and head of BEL, “The new name resonates with our clientele and better reflects the college and departments our library serves.” |
