Desktop Access Arranged for UIC Medical Titles Research and teaching in the life sciences continue to grow at a rapid pace. In the past, campus faculty and students have been disadvantaged because the Health Sciences Library (HSL) at UIC could not extend desktop access to its licensed materials. The HSL has been very gracious in offering onsite use of these resources, but this has been an impractical arrangement for most UIUC faculty and students. Interim Chancellor Herman has agreed to provide funding for the next two years to extend some of the medical titles held by UIC to the UIUC campus. During this period, the Library will monitor the use of these resources in order to determine whether support should be continued in the future. Library staff currently are reviewing the list of titles, which soon will be available at www.library.uiuc.edu/orr/. |
